The many ways to add music

Type it, paste ChordPro or text, import a file, drop in a photo or PDF, scan, or share from another app.

Getting your charts in is the thing you'll do most — so every method below works on every plan, and none of them is ever paywalled. Pick whichever matches what you already have.

1 · Add a song from scratch

In the Song Library, tap (top-right). Fill in the details, then open the Lyric Builder to write it. Here's the new-song form:

2 · Paste ChordPro · 3 · paste plain text

Go to Studio → Import and tap Paste text. Paste a ChordPro chart and MusicianOS reads its directives ({title}, {artist}, {key}, {tempo}, tuning, genres, links) and section markers ({start_of_chorus}…). No ChordPro? Paste ordinary chords-over-lyrics text and it lifts the chords off the words and detects sections — a real chart, not a flat note.

4 · Photo or PDF · 5 · import a file

The Import screen lists every source directly — tap Take photo or scan, Choose from Photos, or From a file to bring in a photo, scan, ChordPro, text, PDF, or MusicXML. A photo or PDF is read on-device, auto-cropped, and turned into an editable chart (multi-page PDFs come in page by page).
