Acceptable Use Policy

Effective July 9, 2026.

MusicianOS is a service of Tipping Maples LLC.

What this covers

This policy governs anything you publish to a public artist page on muos.app, and any message you send through the platform — booking enquiries, live audience song requests, tips and their accompanying notes.

It does not govern your private library. The songs, charts, lyrics, recordings and files you keep in the MusicianOS app live on your device and in your own private iCloud account. We do not host them, cannot read them, and claim no authority over them. Nothing in this policy asks you to justify what you keep on your own instrument.

Your content is yours, and so is the responsibility

You keep every right you have in what you publish. You grant us only the non-exclusive licence we need to host, store, reproduce, and display it in order to run the service — for as long as you keep it published, and no longer.

In return, you are solely responsible for what you publish, and by publishing it you confirm that you own it or have the rights, permissions, or licences you need. That includes sheet music, lyrics, chord charts, cover art, recordings, and anything you did not write yourself.

We do not pre-screen published content. We are not the author or publisher of what artists post, and we do not endorse it.

What you may not publish or send

Do not use MusicianOS to publish, host, transmit, or link to:

Material you do not have the rights to. Copyrighted lyrics, sheet music, chord charts, recordings, images, or artwork you neither own nor are licensed to publish. Publishing a cover you perform is not the same as publishing someone else’s chart or recording of it.

Content that violates someone’s rights. Trademark infringement; violations of publicity, privacy, or moral rights; trade secrets; content published in breach of a contract you are bound by.

Sexual or explicit material. Pornography, sexualised depictions of minors (which we report to the authorities without notice), or sexual content presented to audiences who have not chosen to see it.

Abuse of people. Harassment, bullying, stalking, doxxing, threats of violence, incitement, or hate speech targeting people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation.

Illegal activity. Anything unlawful where you are, or where your audience is, including the sale of controlled substances, weapons, or stolen goods.

Deception. Impersonating another artist, band, venue, or person; falsely claiming affiliation or endorsement; misrepresenting who is performing, when, or where; fraudulent booking or payment behaviour; misuse of the tipping feature.

Attacks on the service. Malware; scraping outside our published terms; circumventing rate limits, authentication, or paywalls; probing another tenant’s data; automated bulk publishing; anything that degrades the platform for others.

Spam. Bulk unsolicited messages, SEO manipulation, or content published to promote something unrelated to your music.

Audience-submitted content

Live song requests, booking enquiries, and tip notes are written by members of the public. We do not screen them.

Artists can moderate the requests shown on their own stage, and can report or block a sender. Anyone can report content on a public artist page — no account required. Every report reaches a human.

What we may do

We may remove, disable, suspend, or restrict any content, artist page, or account that we reasonably believe violates this policy, our Terms, or the law — at our discretion, with or without prior notice, and immediately where the situation is urgent (illegal content, an active infringement claim, a security threat, a court order).

Copyright removals follow the DMCA Policy and are counted under the Repeat Infringer Policy.

We may also decline to act. Being asked to remove something is not the same as being obliged to, and we will not remove lawful content because someone dislikes it.

Suspending a page never touches your library. Your app keeps working; your songs stay on your device and in your iCloud; you can export everything at any time. The worst we can do to you is take you off the public web.

Reporting

Copyright: follow the DMCA Policy — a notice must satisfy 17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3) to be actionable.

Everything else: email legal@tippingmaples.com, or use the report link on the artist page or in the app. Tell us what the content is, where it is, and why it violates this policy. We respond to reports.

Appeals

If we removed something of yours and you believe we were wrong, email legal@tippingmaples.com. A different person from the one who made the original decision reviews it, and we tell you the outcome and the reason.

For copyright removals specifically, an appeal is not a DMCA counter-notification and does not preserve those rights or that timeline — see the DMCA Policy.

Changes

We will post changes here and update the effective date.
